If we don’t have a healthy mindset, how can we live a healthy lifestyle? A lot of the time we are just living our lives going with the flow and don’t even realize we have an unhealthy mindset. The mindset that has me reaching for an order of french fries instead of a salad, or a soda instead of a smoothie. I am not an unhappy person. I have a job I love, a wonderful marriage with the man that I love. But what is fostering this unhealthy mindset? What would happen if I really looked within myself? What would I see?
This introspective is often avoided due to denial and living life on autopilot. But when we finally take that look, what will we see? Through all the pain, laziness, and insecurities we all have a choice to make. Do I turn around and go back to living my life the same way or do I take this new path in front of me. The path toward what I really want, to be a much healthier version of myself.
This look inward is the first step to living a healthy lifestyle. The first step is always the hardest, but there are ways to make it easier, and it might be different for everyone. For me it is having my husband and friends by my side. It is great to have a support group to lean on. Family and friends that know your goals and encourage you to have the fruit rather than the candy.
If you’re more of a loner, you have to find that encouragement from within. Your journey will be different from mine, but the destination is just the same. Some people like self help books, there are a lot of great mind and body books on Audible. Some of you might find inspiration from body transformation videos on YouTube. There are so many options for inspiration.
Your mindset is the key to reaching your goals. So I challenge you all to look within yourself, even if you don’t think you need to. If you find something that makes you question, really listen to what is being said. When you love yourself there should not be an exception. Be real with yourself and take the first step.
